Update regarding carbon dioxide supply to Western Australia

We wish to advise that our third-party carbon dioxide feedgas supplier at Kwinana has informed us that it is undertaking essential maintenance of its facility from 26 October to 4 December 2021. This will result in an interruption to our feedgas supply and therefore, we will not be able to produce liquid carbon dioxide during this period at our Kwinana carbon dioxide plant. This impacts our ability to supply liquid carbon dioxide, compressed cylinder carbon dioxide and dry ice products in Western Australia.  

For the duration of the outage, we will be unable to supply customers through our normal means, therefore suspending our contractual obligations to supply during this period. However we have arranged, at additional cost, for alternative supply requirements to be met from different carbon dioxide supply sources for the planned duration of the feedgas outage plus a short contingency period. These alternative supply arrangements are limited in capacity and may result in rationing of product to customers below contracted volumes. 

The alternate arrangements available will have a surcharge rate applied in addition to your current product price. The surcharge rates will be as follows:

Note: Privately owned cylinders filled with any of the above product codes will also be subjected to the surcharge as indicated.
The surcharge will be applied from the date listed in the above table and will continue until normal supply resumes. This is expected to be one to two weeks after the feedgas supply recommences. The supply plan has been adjusted to consider the impact of significant constraints in international shipping and equipment availability.
If you do not wish to receive surcharged product from BOC during this time, then please contact your Account Manager in writing on or before Thursday 28 October 2021 and BOC will temporarily suspend supply to your facility for the duration of the outage. Otherwise, BOC will continue to plan to deliver any scheduled orders throughout the shutdown period, subject to potential rationing as described above, and will apply the surcharge rate to deliveries during that period.
